In your Fulfillment account, you may have access to shipping labels automatically generated from the Advance Ship Notices (ASNs) you send to your Trading Partners. These labels and barcodes are created based on the information entered in the ASN. We recommend using Fulfillment-generated labels whenever they are available.
If you choose to use your own shipping labels instead, you’ll need to create them internally. To ensure accurate data flow, make sure to complete the Using Own Label Numbers checkbox and the First Container ID field when creating your ASN.
💡 Note: Not all forms will have the "Using Own Label Number" option.
Using Your Own Label Numbers in an ASN
In your ASN, go to the Header tab and check the Using Own Label Numbers box.
Navigate to the Order tab.
Click the
icon in the Pack/Tare Info section.
In the First Container (or only) ID field, enter the number from your self-generated shipping label. This number must be exactly 20 characters long and contain only numbers (no letters).
If you have multiple self-generated shipping labels, you only need to enter the first one. Fulfillment will use the value in the First Container ID field as a starting point and automatically generate the remaining labels in sequence.
💡 Note: If your Container ID does not meet the required format, you will not be able to generate an ASN using the Using Own Label Numbers feature. In this case, contact your Trading Partner to discuss next steps.
