Two Types of Errors

Following the upload of your Item Import template into Assortment, you may encounter errors. Errors will either be:

Item Errors

Identifying the item errors within the import can be accomplished two ways:

  1. Click on the blue number next to ERRED ITEMS will bring you to the Errors tab, filtering to include only the errors from that specific upload.

  2. Click on the Errors tab at any time to view a list of all of errored items across uploads.

From the Errors tab, you can filter errors by an item's unique identifier (such as UPC or Vendor Part Number), or by Trading Partner.

Correcting Item Errors

There are two ways to correct erred items.

  1. Update your item in the import template, save your changes in the file, and re-upload your items. Repeat until all errors for all items are corrected.

  2. Edit the erred attribute data directly through the Assortment application (not available for all attributes).

If using an integrated upload solution, simply correct the errors in your system and push the updates to SPS.

Correcting Item Errors via Assortment

  1. From the Errors tab, click on the item's unique identifier to access the error detail.

  2. Update the invalid/missing information.

  3. Click Save.

  4. Repeat until all errors for all items are corrected.

NOTE: If you update an item in Assortment, be sure to make the update in the item import template as well. Otherwise, you risk deleting item data from Assortment upon subsequent uploads of the template.

File Errors

File errors typically occur when either:

  1. There is an error with how the item import template is formatted, or

  2. Item data has been provided in such a way that the file itself cannot be processed.

A file error prevents any items from within the file from being imported into Assortment, however, those errors can often be corrected by updating the item data in the template and reuploading.

Correcting File Errors

To review and correct file errors:

  1. Click the + to the left of the file name under Import History.

  2. Review the details of the error, if possible, make the correction(s) to the data in the template, and reupload.

For questions on specific file errors or how to correct them, please do not hesitate to reach out to our Support team.
