In this article, we will walk through the three types of pricing that Target Plus captures for your items and how those prices translate to target.com.

Price Overview for Target Plus

For managing pricing updates, Target will reflect any new pricing information immediately once it is sent to their system from SPS. To update a price, load the new price to Assortment.

If pricing needs to be sent the day of when it was uploaded, please contact Assortment Support to send an immediate pricing update to Target Plus. Otherwise, all updated prices are sent to Target Plus overnight.

There are no dates tied to when a price update should occur, so scheduling pricing changes is not an option. To see the different price types, refer to the below Target Plus Help Article.

Below are other things to note about pricing:

  • All items must contain a List Price to be approved.

  • If you send an Offer Price (RSP) higher than List (LPR), you will receive an error.

  • If Offer Price (RSP) is lower than MAP (IMP) price, it will show as ‘See Price in Cart’ AND will show the offer price (RSP) instead of MAP (IMP).

How to Manage Pricing in Assortment

Target utilizes three different price types in their system. Below is a chart aligning their price types with Assortment Price Qualifiers.

Target Price Name

Assortment Price Qualifier

Definition

List Price (required)

LPR

The everyday, regular retail price on an item.

Offer Price (optional)

RSP

This will show as a sale on the Target product page. List price will show crossed out and sale price will be in red.

MAP (optional)

IMP

This will appear on the product page as ‘See Price in Cart’

When creating a pricing group in the spreadsheet, there are three fields required to provide a price in Assortment:

  • Price Qualifier = This is the qualifier that identifies which price this is.

  • Price Amount = This should be the numerical value.

  • Price Unit of Measure = This is the unit of measure used for sales.

See below for examples of how products are shown on Target and how to format the Assortment spreadsheet accordingly.
