Learn how to use the Create and Send feature of Fulfillment to instantly send documents.

In this article, we will walk through how to set up and use the Create and Send feature in Fulfillment.

What is Create and Send?

Create and Send simplifies your document creation, allowing you to generate and send return documents without manual data entry. This feature requires a one-time setup in Settings for each Trading Partner and document type.

Why would I use Create and Send?

Do you frequently create multiple return documents for your Trading Partner with the same recurring details? When the required information is consistent across documents, Create and Send can help streamline the process by reducing the need to retype identical data.

⚠️ Create and Send will not work if any fields require manual entry or if certain information changes each time you send a document to a specific Trading Partner. All required fields must be consistently prefilled through Auto Sourcing for Create and Send to function properly.

How do I setup and use Create and Send?

To use the Create and Send feature, you first need to set up Auto Sourcing. Auto Sourcing allows you to prefill fields with information that remains consistent across specific document types. This ensures that required fields are automatically populated each time you send a document.

Keep in mind that all required fields in Auto Sourcing must be completed for Create and Send to work properly.

Once all required fields are set to Auto Source, select Create and Send Document instead of Auto Fill or User Entry to send the document without needing to enter any information manually.

An alert will appear while your document processes in the background.

⚠️ If the document can't be sent automatically using the information from Auto Sourcing, a pop-up will appear (as shown below). A draft of the document will still be created and saved, so you can quickly complete the missing information and send.
