Order Lead Time is an attribute that you may provide to your trading partners through Assortment. Understanding the need for and use of this attribute is important. Order Lead Time measures the time from the date an order is placed to the date it is shipped.

Order Lead Time is important for both order placement timing and order receiving timing. This information provides insight into ordering, delivery, and inventory management coordination and allows the retailer to plan inventory across locations.

If a value is indicated for Order Lead Time, then one must also be entered in Order Lead Time Code.

Valid Values for Order Lead Time Code:

  • DA = calendar days

  • DW = working days

  • HR = hours

  • WK = weeks

  • MO = months

If orders placed on Monday will ship on Wednesday, then Order Lead Time = 3 and Order Lead Time Code = DA.

Order Lead Time is a repeatable attribute. Please visit Adding Repeatable Fields to Assortment for steps on how to add additional Order Lead Time values to an item's record.
